PAYD's first annual Summer Day Camp 2010
Charles Gordon Senior Public School

I am thrilled to say that our first annual summer day camp was a success! It was fun filled and packed with a variety of activities to keep our campers busy and wanting more. Our summer camp allowed the kids to show off their creativity through various types of art as they created plays, made musical instruments, choreographed dance routines, and produced various crafts.  They were also kept busy physically through a variety of sports and play.

Every day was a different theme which kept them focused on one thing. One of my personal favorite themed day was Nature Day where the campers had the opportunity to discover nature and appreciate it. Every Friday was an outing day where the campers had a chance to enjoy mini-putting, go-karting and my favorite Ontario Place!

One thing I noticed with all the campers, the first week of camp, was that they were shy and quiet but by the last day of camp, their confidence levels increased and they were much more outgoing.

I cannot express enough how thankful and appreciative I am to all of our counselors, staff and volunteers who helped make our first annual summer camp such a success.  Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication and I look forward to next year!
